Mark Kim (President)

Mark has over 13 years of commercial construction experience and is the Managing Director of Project Management at CBRE in San Francisco.

Mark has a passion for serving his community and actively serves at his local church and various local non-profits. Growing up in the southeast part of the country, he noticed an absence in minority representation in the commercial real estate industry, so he was excited to meet so many here in the Bay Area.

Outside of work and ACP responsibilities, Mark enjoys exploring new hiking trails and cheering on his alma mater, the University of Florida.

 

Aziz Khatri (President-Elect)

With over 30+ years of business development and management expertise, Aziz is has also served his clients as a Real Estate Investment Consultant for most of his professional life.

His contributions with various community organizations and non-profit boards allow Aziz to give back to the community and offer his services – whether as a real estate professional or a business consultant to these organizations. As a result, the Oakland City Council declared December 11 Aziz Khatri Day.

 

Gerard Wen (Treasurer)

As Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Business Development team, Gerard brings his unique combination of financial acumen and passion for building and growing business relationships to Albin Engineering.

His volunteer background includes over 25 years with the American Red Cross in various capacities, including Chapter Chair, Regional Chair and Chair of a national committee. He has also been involved with Friends of the Guadalupe River Park, International Facility Management Association-Silicon Valley, Institute of Management Accountants-Peninsula-Palo Alto, and Adobe Meadow Neighborhood Association.


Wayne Huie (Co-Founder/Sponsorship)

Wayne has almost 40 years of experience within the construction and engineering industry, and has served as President of Young Electric + Communications since 2003.

He is known for his ability to develop design, engineering and work flow processes that help make projects more efficient.

During Wayne’s tenure at Young Electric + Communications, the company has grown into one of the Bay Area’s largest electrical and telecommunications companies, generating annual revenues of approximately $45 million. The company has an office staff of over 20, and approximately 100 electricians and technicians in the field.

 

Pat Hallett (Scholarship)

Pat has worked for over 25 years in the Life Safety & Security Industry in management, strategic planning, sales, and as a sales leader.

He is responsible for Sales Staff & Marketing of the Design, Installation, Service and Monitoring of Life Safety Inspections including Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler, Fire Pumps, Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hoods, Physical Security, Access Control, CCTV, Video Surveillance, and Liquid & Hazardous Leak Detection.

 

Alan Pong (Secretary)

Alan Pong is President and Owner of Comfort International, a green-focused energy management and HVAC maintenance firm, specializing in engineering utility cost savings for existing commercial buildings and maintaining them to be comfortable carbon neutral environments. Alan has been in the HVAC and Energy Management industry since 1989. Alan’s company brings the experience of professional engineers, energy management experts, and journeyman HVAC service technicians. He has helped his
clients achieve the lowest metrics in energy consumption for many types of medium to large commercial facilities without having to replace expensive systems, typically reducing energy consumption 20% to over 50% on existing HVAC systems

Stuart Lee (Co-Founder)

Currently working on a variety of healthcare & sustainability projects in the Bay Area.

Notable project includes the completion of the Kaiser San Leandro Hospital construction by helping achieve OSHPD (Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development) certificate of occupancy. The work involved the building of a 435,000 square foot 216 bed hospital, a four story 185,000 square foot medical office building and a 30,000 square foot central utility plant serving these buildings.

 

Malinder Bhan (Scholarship)

Malinder builds business relationships with her clients and has over 15 years of commercial lending experience. She specializes in acquisition and management of business clients with annual revenues between $3MM - $20MM.

She is successful in providing financing or refinancing owner-occupied commercial real estate either via SBA or Conventional programs.

 

Emily Teng (AAPI / Communications)

Recently relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area from Singapore, Emily is committed to service for the greater good. Caring deeply for education of the heart and soul, at 20 years old, Emily founded an award-winning non-profit organisation that believes every child has a right to opportunities, loving support and space to build their dreams.

In 2018, she was honoured by Singapore’s President for her commitment to service and for rallying community spirit. That same year, she was named by Facebook as one of the world’s most inspiring leaders.

Outside of her roles as Executive Director with her non-profit and supporting ACP through it’s AAPI Special Committee, she shows up as a ‘Dream Doula’ - creating safe spaces for change-makers, servant leaders and visionaries to birth their dreams to the world and, most important, to rest, to dream, to reimagine their lives and their work.

In so doing, the world is transformed -- one person and one dream at a time.
